Live Run Help
Use Live Run with OBS.
Live Run gives you a private ReelDeck controller and a clean output URL that can be shown in OBS as a Browser Source. Use it when you want to cue saved clips and source beats during a live stream.
1. Prepare your Creator Script
Add each clip, article, AI capture, or source beat you plan to reference. Set In and Out ranges for videos that should start and stop at specific moments.
2. Open Live Run
From the Creator Scripts editor, click Live run. The controller opens with the current beat, upcoming beat, output state, and rundown controls.
3. Copy the output URL
Use Copy output URL from the Live Run controller. This tokenized URL is designed for OBS and does not require app login cookies.
- Treat the output URL like a private show link
- Do not post it publicly
- Create a fresh session when you need a fresh output link
4. Add an OBS Browser Source
In OBS, add a Browser Source and paste the ReelDeck output URL. Size it for your scene, then test Go live, Stop, Standby, Next, Back, and Replay from the ReelDeck controller.
5. Cue the rundown during the stream
Use the controller to play a beat, advance to the next beat, jump to a specific beat, or return the output to Standby. Your private notes stay in ReelDeck; the audience sees only the output.
Before going live, rehearse the complete rundown once in OBS so you can confirm video playback, audio capture, and scene framing.
Common questions
Why does a video not autoplay in OBS?
Autoplay and audio behavior can depend on OBS Browser Source settings, the provider embed, and browser policies. Test the output before the stream and verify OBS audio routing.
Can viewers see my notes?
No. Notes live in the authenticated controller. The output URL is designed to show only the clean audience-facing beat output.
Does the output URL expire?
Live Run sessions are short-lived in the MVP. Treat each output URL as session-specific and create a new one when preparing a new show.
