Creator Scripts Help
Use Creator Scripts to turn saved sources into a rundown.
Creator Scripts are ordered beat lists built from the videos, articles, AI captures, and saved clips in your ReelDeck library. Use them when you want to plan an edited video, a commentary segment, or a live stream rundown.
1. Create or open a script
Open Creator Scripts from the sidebar, then create a new script or select an existing one. Give the script a clear title that matches the video, stream, or segment you are preparing.
2. Add sources to beats
Use Find Source to search all library sources or filter by collection. Add the source you want to the beat list. ReelDeck shows source titles, thumbnails, provider labels, and saved ranges when available.
3. Preview and mark In/Out
Click a playable source preview to load or play the video. Set In and Set Out while reviewing the asset, then use Preview in/out to confirm the exact range.
- Use Play on click when you want the source to start immediately
- Turn Play on click off when you want to load the player first and start manually
- Use Reset to clear the override or restore the saved clip default when one exists
4. Add narration, notes, and citations
Write your commentary in the beat narration field and add notes for placement, context, or production reminders. Citation notes stay attached to the beat so exported scripts keep source context intact.
5. Export or run live
Use ReelDeck JSON or CapCut helper exports when the script is headed to an editor. Use Live Run when you want to control the script during a live stream and send a clean output URL to OBS.
A good Creator Script should tell you what source appears, when it starts, when it stops, what you plan to say, and what source context needs to stay attached.
Common questions
What happens when I reset In/Out?
Reset clears the script-level range override. If the beat was created from a saved workspace clip, ReelDeck can restore that clip's default range instead of treating it as a full-length source.
Can I use Creator Scripts for edited videos and live streams?
Yes. Export the script when you are preparing a non-live edit. Use Live Run when you want to control the beat list during a stream.
