Export Help

Export Creator Scripts for editing.

Creator Script exports help you move a prepared rundown into an editing workflow. ReelDeck gives you receipt-style feedback after each export so you know what file was created and where the browser or folder setting sent it.

1. Save the script first

Before exporting, save any unsaved script changes so the exported file includes the latest beats, source ranges, narration, notes, and citations.

2. Export ReelDeck JSON

ReelDeck JSON preserves the native script structure: beat order, source references, timestamps, placement, narration, audio intent, citation notes, and export metadata.

3. Export the CapCut helper

The CapCut helper is a structured companion package for editors. It can include a source manifest, cut list, commentary script, captions, and citation notes. It is not yet a guaranteed native CapCut project import.

4. Read the export receipt

After an export, ReelDeck shows the filename, destination label, file size, completion time, and follow-up actions.

  • Use Save again if you need a fresh copy
  • Use Copy filename when documenting or sending the export to a teammate
  • Use Export settings to review the current destination preference

5. Configure export destination

Browser downloads go to the browser's normal Downloads location, which a web app cannot reliably reveal as a full OS path. When supported by the browser, ReelDeck can use a chosen local folder handle so you have more control over where Creator Script exports land.

Use exports for non-live workflows. Use Live Run when you need the same script to operate as a real-time show controller.

Common questions

Where did my export save?

If you use browser downloads, the file goes to your browser's configured download location. If you choose a supported local folder in export settings, ReelDeck can save Creator Script exports there instead.

Is the CapCut helper a native CapCut project file?

Not yet. It is a structured helper package with source and editing context. Native CapCut project import remains validation-dependent.
