Live workflow

An OBS live rundown tool for streamers

ReelDeck Live Run helps streamers prepare clips before a broadcast and control them during the show. The creator uses a private controller while OBS receives a clean browser-source output.

Why OBS needs a source rundown

OBS is excellent for scenes, capture, audio, and streaming. It is less convenient as the place where you research clips, mark exact moments, write talk-track notes, and keep citations. ReelDeck handles that preparation layer.

Set up the output URL

Open Live Run from a Creator Script, copy the output URL, and add it to OBS as a Browser Source. Treat the tokenized URL like a private stream link because anyone with the URL can see the output while the session is active.

Cue clips from the controller

Use Go live, Replay, Back, Next, Stop, Standby, or direct beat cueing from the ReelDeck controller. Your audience sees the output, while your beat notes and control state stay private.

Use In/Out ranges

When a beat has non-zero In and Out markers, Live Run starts at the In point and stops at the Out point. If the beat came from a saved workspace clip, the clip default can remain the baseline range.

Keep notes private

Use beat notes for placement reminders, citations, commentary prompts, and run-of-show context. The output route stays clean for OBS and does not expose the private controller.

The goal is not to replace a streaming setup. ReelDeck gives streamers a stronger source-material and rundown layer that can sit beside OBS, Stream Deck, and the rest of the live production stack.

Common questions

Can OBS play the Live Run output URL?

Yes. Add the copied ReelDeck output URL as an OBS Browser Source. Playback behavior can still depend on provider embed rules, browser-source audio settings, and autoplay policies.

Is the Live Run output URL public?

The output URL is tokenized and does not require login, which makes it work in OBS. Treat it like a private show link and do not publish it.

Does Live Run work with every video platform?

Live Run works best with providers that allow official iframe playback. Unsupported or restricted providers should fall back to a clean card or external-open guidance.
